<p>In 2010 an audit took place to assess how robust the</p> <p><a href="http://www.hea.ie/en/node/1124">HEA Equal Access Survey</a></p> <p>is a means of judging the diversity of participation in higher education and</p> <p><a href="http://www.hea.ie/en/node/1121">allocating funding</a></p> <p>to support and incentivise access initiatives by higher education institutions for students with disabilities, mature students and those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. <br /> <br /> The report of the audit team is now published.&nbsp; In the context of a number of recommendations by the team, the main finding of this report is that the Access data currently available to the HEA is sufficiently robust to be appropriate for use for the allocation of Access funding within the overall</p> <p><a href="http://www.hea.ie/en/node/124">Recurrent Grant Allocation Model (RGAM)</a></p> <p>.</p>
