A key objective of the HEA, working with the Minister for Education and Science, her Department and higher education institutions is to ensure that Ireland has a higher education and research system which, by meeting international standards of excellence in areas such as teaching, research and governance, meets the broad range of needs of the country - social, economic and cultural.
