Launch of research studies on costs of college and low rates of participation
Launch of research studies on (i) the costs of college for students and (ii) the low rates of participation by students from the Non-Manual social group.
Tuesday 26 January 2010 in ESRI offices, Whitaker Square, Dublin 2
Michael Kelly, Chairman of the Higher Education Authority, today launched two studies of significant importance to higher education and to work towards equality of access. Both studies are inter-related, and they offer significant new knowledge and insights on firstly, the cost of going to college for students today and secondly, reasons for the worryingly low rate of participation in higher education by those from the ‘Non-Manual’ category, the largest social group in Ireland.
Michael Kelly’s speech at the launch of the two reports is available here.
