Capital Programmes
The Capital Programmes Section of the HEA is responsible for the capital funding allocated to Universities, Institutes of Technology (for research programmes only) and a number of other designated colleges.
The capital investment enables the construction of new teaching, research and student services buildings, refurbishment projects, infrastructure development and property acquisiton.
The two major activities relate to:
- General (mainstream) capital investment
- Research capital investment
The current portfolio of HEA administered physical Infrastructure programmes are:
- Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions ( PRTLI) - Cycle 5 competition open
- Research Facilities Enhancement Scheme 2008 - closed
- Research Equipment Renewal Grant - 2007 - closed
- Review of Mainstream Capital Projects
