Managing your Money

For students, managing money is an important skill. There are many sources of advice and help if needed. www.itsyourmoney.ie/students gives tips on budgeting and planning, how to live within your means, how to save money and more. Another good source is the Money and Advice Budgeting Service (MABS). MABS also operates a network of drop-in advice centres.

Discounts are commonly available on goods and services for full-time students with a Student ID card. Further information on this is available from the linked websites above. Check out also the website for the International Student Identity Card (ISIC).

If you are a student on-campus, money advice is always available from a range of sources, including the college. You can find out more on the college website. You can also get advice on part-time work – what is available, and guidance on how best to balance work and study.
