What to Study and Where
County Guide to Colleges
You may find that only one college in Ireland offers the course(s) that you are interested in. However, for many courses, there will be a choice of colleges. They can be grouped broadly into five categories: universities, institutes of technology, colleges of education, other publicly-funded colleges and private colleges.
The table below is a handy guide to colleges and institutes (in receipt of public recurrent funding) in the Republic of Ireland. You can click on a college name to go directly to the website of that college. The names of the colleges are, in many cases, in their abbreviated form.
